USDF Bronze Medalist with multiple Champion and Reserve Championships from Training through 4th Levels both locally and regionally, Competed through Prix St. Georges. regular instruction with FEI level trainers and clinics with some of the country’s elite dressage riders.
Previous instruction includes numerous clinics with top dressage trainers and olympians such as Dotti Morkis, Heather Blitz, Jan Ebling, and Beverly Rogers. Working student for two USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medalists for over three years. I have over 20 years' experience riding and competing in 4-H, Pony Club to the C3 level, and Dressage.
I have trained most of my own horses to second and third levels. I am currently training my Oldenburg mare Dalia; we are working on 2nd level movements. In her first two shows ever we received 66 and 67%. In Nov 2014, we scored a 70.6 % on First Level Test 1, and a 66.8% on First Level test 2 our second time competing the test.
I believe a well-rounded horse is stronger and has better muscle development because of this; I like to include jumping, trail riding, and gymnastics in all my training. I focus on having each horse move from behind into the front, as this creates better balance and correct muscle development, and straightness.
In lessons I concentrate on having a strong and stabilized core and seat, so that the rider can have soft and forward hands, as well as bring the horse from the back end to the front while keeping suppleness. I believe that true harmony between horse and rider cannot be achieved without the very basics in horsemanship, so weather you are riding first level or GP the basics are the same.
Monthly Training is now available at my facility or I will come to you. References available upon request please email or contact me at 571-354-3938 with any questions.
